5 straight days of incessant rain from Tropical Storm Tomas. The South Pacific region of Costa Rica received 3x's the monthly average (November's average) of rain in the first 5 days of the month. We estimated about 60-100 inches of rain in 5 days.
Costa Rica is in a National Emergency. The land is completely saturated. Entire hillsides slide away because the earth could hold no more water. The coast is flooding and coastal roads are underwater.
We made this video of the farm, nearby roads and water drainage through the storm. Drainage on the farm was exceptional and the farm itself fared marvelously. All structures remain dry, roofs did not leak, hills did not slide, electric and Internet remained in-tack, while nearby roads are wrecked.
